Collect Bail Bond calls come from the jails at all times of day and night, but mostly in the middle of the night. So, off I go to talk to the individual who has been taken into custody and perform the necessary paperwork to get them released.
I’m sure you might have heard the words; one important thing contributes to another. Inside the Las Vegas Bail Bonds, it’s a common theme and here are three examples, although I was able to write about dozens. I’ll keep it simplistic.
The most popular scenario is the fact that person arrested was pulled over because of not visiting an entire stop at a red signal before turning, or doing a rolling stop. A rolling stop, or what some call; a California stop, will be the driver slowing down then proceeding. Quite simply, running the stop sign.
The issue erupts when they’re stopped. Rolling down the window, the officer receives a whiff of alcohol from the driver. What follows is actually a sobriety test, searching in the vehicle, and if there are other occupants, license verification and determination if the passengers happen to be consuming alcohol. The driver needs to have visit a complete stop.
This story pops inside my head because i write this. Within the late 80s, I was out with a restaurant/bar with two friends. We left and was stopped for erratic lane changing. I was not the operator. I had been a passenger. One officer put the driver within the police car and drove off. Another officer asked when we have been drinking and we both said, “yes, we had consumed alcohol beverages on the restaurant/bar.” The result was the passenger officer driving our friend’s car and driving us to the police station. We got out when bwystj arrived and believed that we could drive our friend’s car and go home. Not. The officer had us get out, he locked the car and said, “good night.” I said, “How are we to get home?” His reply, “You both are big boys, you’ll figure it.” It was a long walk.
Another sad ending occurs when the operator gets pulled over and drugs are found. To increase this example, you should learn this little twist. The property owner in the car was too intoxicated to operate. So, a pal stated that he would drive. Remember that this was not his car, he was just doing his friend a big favor by driving. Well, the substitute driver rolls an end sign, in a hurry to obtain home and end the evening. The lights flash, the operator pulls over, as well as the officer does an inspection. Bingo! Illegal drugs inside the trunk. The driver was arrested. Yes, it wasn’t his car, but since he was driving the responsibility for its contents were on his shoulders. Think twice about volunteering to get a friend’s car.
This example is a reality check as to what an officer’s perception can be. We know the create. The officer desires to inspect the car and says, “Pop the trunk.” Surprise! In the trunk, the locked trunk, is a baseball bat. However, there is no baseball glove, no baseballs, no ball cap, no bases, nothing else baseball related. Busted for having a concealed weapon. A footnote for this example could be those miniature baseball bats that you simply buy as a souvenir with your favorite team’s logo on it. If it’s late at night, chances are good that you are currently not on the road home coming from a ballgame. Be careful. The sign is red plus it says, “STOP!” Just do that, stop. Your friends may well not think it is cool, but getting pulled over and obtaining arrested is even less cool.
